The Biggest Event of the Year: Moldova Business Week 2017

6 September 2017

The business community of the Republic of Moldova, domestic and foreign investors, as well as the national authorities and development partners come together for the year’s biggest economic event: Moldova Business Week 2017, which will take place on October 3-6. The business week is organized by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure in partnership with the Moldovan Investment and Export Promotion Organization (MIEPO) under the aegis of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.

This year’s event will focus on two major issues – investments and exports, and both are filled up with a consistent agenda of conference on various important subjects for the business environment in Moldova, B2B sessions and direct discussion platforms with foreign investors. As many as 30 business events have been planned for „Moldova Business Week 2017”. They are structured into 12 discussion panels where 50 speakers will moderate the topics before an audience of around 1,000 participants.

There will be two economic forums during the event: The Moldovan-Italian Business Forum and the Exporters Forum, along with five B2B meetings, three study tours to large producers engaged in the sectors related to food, textile, wear, shoes and leather production, as well as a presentation of industrial assets on the privatization list.

The Moldovan-Italian Business Forum, on October 4, will be organized in partnership with the Italian Embassy to Moldova and the bilateral chambers of commerce. This forum will focus on the presence of Italian companies in Moldova and on sectors with a potential for investment and trade. The Exporters Forum, on October 5, will scrutinize Moldovan exports under several aspects such as competitiveness, assistant tools, and access to new markets.

A project called “Online Platform for Moldova Eco Products” will be launched on October 4. This project is designed to advance eco products and inter-activity between producers and consumers for online commerce with traditional and ecological commodities; it would also encourage the use of internet-based resources. The same day participants will be invited for study tours to Moldovan industrial parks and free economic zones, and to agri-food enterprises and light industries.
At a conference scheduled for October 6 the most important economic event of next autumn will also address the opportunities of regional economic development in the emerging poles of growth – free economic zones and industrial parks, as well as the internationalization of SMEs.

Government officials from 39 countries and companies from 56 countries have been invited to attend the Moldova Business Week 2017 event.
